Yva Barthélémy had had to come to terms with a sudden and inexplicable deterioration in the quality of her voice in the preceding years. This sparked an exhaustive study of the phonic system. The next step was to study anatomical-physiology which resulted in a brand-new method of muscular preparation for opera singers.
She experimented with it for seven years, after which her voice improved dramatically. The school of singing was founded.

I like sowing the Bel Canto seed in a person, letting it germinate, watching it grow; monitoring its development and transformation. It is Life which sings.”

The first edition of her book “La Voix Libérée” (The Liberated Voice) was published by Robert Laffont publishing.
She also founded her Institute to promulgate her method, to improve her knowledge and enrich her technique.
